Fort Nisquallys getaways offer immersive historical experience

Fort Nisqually Living History Museum invites private groups to register for immersive weekends experiencing life in the 1850s. The program features six available weekends between July and August, offering activities such as harvesting produce and hand-washing laundry. Prices begin at $202 for Fort Nisqually members and $225 for non-members, with a $225 deposit required to secure a spot. "We’ve curated these stays to provide immersive and educational experiences,” said Sarah Hoenig, the museum’s educational coordinator. Each weekend accommodates one group of three to six participants, with children aged eight and older welcome.

Historical interpreters will guide activities during the museum's hours, ensuring safety and assistance at all times. Registration closes on July 15th, making early sign-up essential. Interested individuals can find available dates at FortNisqually. org.
