The Lacey MakerSpace, which opened its doors in 2019, serves as an essential resource for local artists, entrepreneurs, and crafters. Director Michelle Pope highlights the MakerSpace's mission to empower individuals through education, inspiration, and community collaboration. The introduction of new classes and partnerships, such as the Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeships with AJAC, enhances the skills of participants and prepares them for competitive job markets. Members not only learn valuable trades but are also encouraged to launch their own businesses, creating a symbiotic relationship between skills development and entrepreneurship. Hands-on classes, taught by local professionals, ensure that learners gain proficiency in using cutting-edge machinery.

Looking forward to summer 2025, the MakerSpace aims to expand volunteer roles, allowing community members to contribute meaningfully. With an Advisory Committee planned to guide future growth, the MakerSpace is set to strengthen its impact. This vibrant space continues to thrive as a community hub for creativity and innovation.
