The Tumwater Timberland Library has reopened following a significant redesign aimed at enhancing accessibility and family engagement. Operations director Brenda Lane underscored the importance of creating a welcoming environment for children and families. The remodel expanded the children's area to nearly five times its original size and separated the teen room for increased privacy. The library remains a vital community resource, providing shelter during storms and colder months. The in-house renovation saved the library thousands of dollars, allowing for further investment in services.
