Young Scooter death Suspected 911 caller arrested, Atlanta police say

Olympia, WALocal News

Atlanta police have arrested Demetria Spence, 31, for allegedly making a false 911 call that led to the tragic death of rapper Young Scooter, whose real name was Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey. The call claimed there was a violent scene with gunfire and a woman being assaulted, but the caller was not present at the scene. Young Scooter died at the age of 39 on March 28 after fleeing from police responding to the report. Officers arrived at the location, where Bailey attempted to escape, leading to injuries that proved fatal. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital but did not survive.

The police have emphasized that the caller's claims were fabricated, and Spence has been charged with transmitting a false public alarm. Recordings of the 911 call described a chaotic scene with allegations of drug activity and potential sex trafficking, raising questions about the legitimacy of the report. The investigation into the details surrounding Young Scooter's death remains ongoing.
