Senior Ava Bautista was the star of the game, allowing just one run and striking out five batters in six innings of play. The Bears demonstrated offensive prowess with 15 hits and four home runs, showcasing Bautista's power as she hit three of those home runs herself. Coach Drew Wellner expressed enthusiasm about the team's strong chemistry and the leadership provided by seniors, aiming for progression throughout the season. Meanwhile, Tumwater's new head coach, Shaunié Kennedy, is focused on instilling confidence in her younger players as they adapt to new strategies.

Despite the loss, Kennedy emphasized the importance of learning from non-league games. The TBirds are preparing for Evergreen 2A Conference play, hoping to build on the experiences from their successful 2024 season, with the motto "Trust the Process" guiding their approach. As both teams look ahead, the competition in the South Sound Sports League promises to be intense.
