Commercial Salal Permit Sales Scheduled for March 18, 19

The Olympic National Forest will begin selling commercial salal harvest permits on March 18, 2025, in Forks, with additional sales on March 19 in Quinault and Quilcene, Washington. Each permit costs $150 and allows individuals to harvest salal for commercial purposes, with only one permit permitted per person. Valid identification is required for purchase, and a lottery will be held if demand exceeds the number of permits available. The Forks and Quinault offices will offer 25 permits each, while the Quilcene office will have 50 permits. In addition to the salal permit sales, Mason Health is proud to announce its scholarship programs aimed at supporting Mason County graduating high school students and healthcare workers.

The full-ride nursing scholarship for Shelton High School Health Sciences Academy students underscores Mason Health's dedication to nurturing future nurses. Applications for the scholarships are open until April 1 and April 18, 2025, depending on the specific scholarship.
