At the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships, Izabelle Trefts and Katie Burnett from The Evergreen State College made a significant impact in the 3,000-meter race walk. Burnett, competing for Harrier Track Club, finished fourth with a time of 13:47. 89, while Trefts tied her school record by finishing seventh at 14:24. 70. This achievement is particularly noteworthy, as Trefts matched her previous time set at the Corban Indoor Open earlier in February.

Head Coach Joel Pearson expressed pride in Trefts' performance, highlighting her potential as a strong contender in future competitions. This championship marks a historic moment for the Geoducks, as Trefts' finish is the highest ever for an athlete from the college at a US Championship. The competition featured strong performances, with Lauren Harris taking first place in 13:23. 82. Looking ahead, the Geoducks are preparing for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, where Trefts will compete again in the race walk alongside teammate Alauna Carstens.

The ongoing success of these athletes reflects the growing prominence of Evergreen's track and field program.
