LOTT Clean Water Alliance is scheduled to kick off a major refurbishment project for the digester system at the Budd Inlet Treatment Plant on March 3, 2025. This extensive construction will close Franklin Street NE in downtown Olympia to all traffic until December 2028, impacting both vehicles and pedestrians. To ensure public safety, detour routes with clear signage will be implemented, and the street will remain closed from Monday to Friday, with limited openings on weekends during summer and recognized government holidays. The Hauled Waste Receiving Station located on Franklin Street will also be unavailable during the closure, except on weekends and holidays from 8 a. m.

to 4 p. m. LOTT is focused on minimizing the impact of this project on local services, particularly for the Thurston County Food Bank and the Union Gospel Mission.
