Peer Olympia has established itself as a vital resource in downtown Olympia, providing no-cost peer-driven support for individuals confronting challenges related to affordable housing, addiction recovery, and mental health. Since its inception in 2021, the organization has focused on reducing barriers through compassionate peer support, allowing members to navigate their unique recovery journeys. The staff, comprised of individuals who have experienced similar struggles, enhances the relatability and effectiveness of the services offered, which include peer coaching and resource referrals. In partnership with local organizations such as the South Sound YMCA, Peer Olympia successfully connects clients to essential services tailored to their needs. In 2023 alone, the organization served 678 individuals, demonstrating its significant impact on the local community.

Peer Olympia also prioritizes inclusivity, maintaining a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals and other marginalized groups, while offering training programs to empower local service providers. By fostering a volunteer-driven model, the organization not only addresses immediate needs but cultivates long-term resilience within the community.
