Olympia, WALocal News

The City of Olympia is launching its Saturday Drop-Off Site for waste and recycling on March 9, 2019, operating every Saturday until November 23, 2019. Located at 1000 10th Avenue SE, the site offers a valuable resource for residents to dispose of scrap metal, yard debris, and traditional recyclables. Residents can drop off organic waste, including grass clippings and branches, with fees assessed based on load size and material type. Importantly, clean, non-appliance scrap metal can be disposed of free of charge, including items like tools and outdoor furniture. Residents are reminded that no fluids or gases should be present in any items for safety.

This initiative promotes environmental sustainability and fosters community engagement by providing a convenient waste management solution. The program is accessible on holiday weekends, encouraging participation among residents and enhancing local recycling efforts.
