The City of Olympia is launching a complimentary parking initiative to revitalize downtown visits following the recent heavy snowfall, referred to as the 'Big Melt. ' From February 20 to 28, free parking will be available at 2-hour (purple) and 3-hour (green) meters, while 9-hour (gray) meters are excluded. This initiative aims to encourage locals and visitors to shop, dine, and explore downtown, stimulating local economic activity. To ensure fair access, Parking Services will enforce posted time limits. This effort not only supports local businesses but also enhances community engagement after a period of isolation due to winter weather.
