Stream Team Announces Earth Day Video Contest

Stream Team is excited to announce the Earth Day Lights, Camera, Action for Clean Water video contest, inviting middle and high school students in Thurston County to showcase their efforts in protecting local water bodies. The grand prize winner will receive a $100 gift card, and submissions are due by March 29 at 5 p. m. Participants are encouraged to create videos that highlight actions combating stormwater pollution, with ideas stemming from the Stream Team’s Actions for Clean Water initiative. Creativity is key, as students can choose from various video genres such as comedy, music videos, and mini-documentaries.

To help students refine their video creation skills, a TCTV video class is available, covering techniques for effective storytelling and production. Winning entries will be showcased on Stream Team’s website and social media platforms, with prizes for the top three videos and two honorable mentions. Stream Team Coordinator Susan M. emphasizes the importance of clean water for both people and wildlife, encouraging students to express their passion for environmental stewardship. This contest aims not only to educate but also to empower youth as advocates for clean water.
