The accident happened around 11:55 p. m. , when a westbound driver saw the man standing in the road but could not stop in time, colliding with him. The impact from the first vehicle caused the man's body to be thrown into a second lane, where he was subsequently hit by another vehicle.

Emergency services rushed him to Providence St. Peter Hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Both drivers involved in the incident remained on the scene and showed no signs of impairment, fully cooperating with the police investigation.
