Man assaulted and left unconscious outside area store, Lacey police say

The Lacey Police Department reported a distressing incident involving a violent assault outside a Dollar Tree store, where a 39-year-old man was arrested after allegedly attacking a victim who was found unconscious. Witness accounts described the victim as lying on the ground and urinating when the suspect confronted him, kicking him in the abdomen and stomping on his head multiple times. The brutal assault resulted in the victim suffering three broken ribs and a brain bleed, requiring emergency medical attention at Providence St. Peter Hospital. Police apprehended the suspect near Interstate 5, where he reportedly resisted arrest and head-butted an officer, leading to additional charges for assaulting law enforcement.

The suspect has been booked on several charges, including first-degree assault.
