A 25-year-old woman faces serious charges after allegedly stabbing two loss prevention workers at Capital Mall in Olympia during a shoplifting attempt. The incident occurred around 3:15 p. m. on November 24, when she was caught trying to steal from JC Penney. After being detained, the woman allegedly provided a false name, prompting the security staff to call the police for verification.

The situation escalated dramatically when she threatened the workers with a weapon and then grabbed scissors from a nearby desk, attacking them. One worker was stabbed in the hand, while the other sustained cuts to the arm and fingers. Following the incident, police arrested the woman on multiple charges, including felony harassment and second-degree assault. This event underscores ongoing concerns about safety and security in retail settings, leading local authorities to emphasize the need for enhanced safety protocols.
