WSP seeking witnesses to shooting at Capitol State Forest

The shooting left an 18-year-old man from Centralia with a foot injury and is believed to have resulted from an argument during a bonfire gathering attended by about 50 people. A 22-year-old man has been arrested and booked into Thurston County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault. Detectives are actively seeking witnesses, particularly those who may have recorded the events. This incident highlights pressing concerns about safety at public gatherings in the Olympia area, emphasizing the need for increased security measures.
