In a strategic move for his administration, Washington Gov. -elect Bob Ferguson has reappointed three directors to vital state agencies, ensuring experienced leadership as he takes office. Cami Feek will continue to lead the Employment Security Department, having served in various roles since June 2021. Derek Sandison, with extensive experience since June 2015 at the Department of Agriculture, and Major General Gent Welsh, who will manage the military department, are also reappointed. Ferguson emphasized their commitment to improving services for Washingtonians.

Earlier appointments, including Tim Lang as secretary of the Department of Corrections and Casey Sixkiller as director of the ecology department, reflect a trend of selecting proven leaders. This strategy aims to maintain stability and enhance operational efficiency across the state, addressing pressing needs effectively.
