On Monday evening, a 75-year-old driver caused widespread damage in Glenoma, Washington, when he attempted to turn his RV-semi around on U. S. 12. This maneuver resulted in the vehicle striking power lines and knocking down multiple power poles, severely impacting local residents and utility services. The Washington State Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 7:20 p.

m. , with emergency responders quickly called to the scene by Glenoma Fire District 18. Damages included a flagpole and monument, with utility companies such as Astound Broadband and Century Link also affected. Two local residents reported damage: one woman’s fence was struck, while another's vehicle was impacted by the downed power lines. Fortunately, the truck driver emerged without injuries, but the incident highlights the potential hazards associated with turning large vehicles in tight spaces.

The investigation is ongoing to assess the full extent of the damages.
