2 Olympia businesses and several cars damaged by suspect the same night, police say

Olympia, WALocal News

A 34-year-old man was re-arrested by Olympia police on December 3, 2024, after being initially detained in November for damaging several vehicles. The investigation revealed he was also responsible for two additional crimes committed on the same night, November 21. Officers responded to a report of the man found in a truck, where they noted broken glass and blood on his hands, linking him to vandalism along Central Street. Surveillance footage later confirmed his involvement in vandalizing Eastside Big Tom, resulting in $50,000 in damages, and flooding Oly Curl hair salon. He was charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief.

This incident underscores the community's ongoing struggles with vandalism and the critical need for enhanced public safety measures to protect local businesses.
