Shelton man killed in wreck identified, WA State Patrol says

Olympia, WALocal News

Levi C. Eaton, a 39-year-old from Shelton, was tragically killed in a car accident on December 5, 2024, as reported by the Washington State Patrol. The incident occurred around 11:10 p. m. when Eaton was traveling south on state Route 3 and crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with a vehicle occupied by two men from Belfair.

The State Patrol cited excessive speed as a contributing factor to the crash, indicating Eaton was driving too fast for the conditions. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The two occupants of the other vehicle, aged 59 and 65, sustained injuries and were taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale for medical care. This accident serves as a stark reminder of the critical importance of adhering to speed limits and exercising caution while driving, especially in adverse conditions.

Local authorities are likely to continue emphasizing road safety measures following this tragic event, and the community mourns the loss of Eaton while reflecting on the need for increased vigilance on the roads to prevent similar incidents.
