Washington Gov. -elect Bob Ferguson has reappointed three directors to lead crucial state agencies, reaffirming his commitment to experienced leadership. Cami Feek will continue as the head of the Employment Security Department, where she has served since June 2021. Derek Sandison, who has been the director of the Department of Agriculture since 2015, will retain his position, bringing valuable expertise from his previous role with the Department of Ecology. Major General Gent Welsh will also continue as the adjutant general for the state’s military department, overseeing the Washington National Guard.

Ferguson expressed gratitude for their unwavering dedication, emphasizing that their collective experience is essential for moving the state forward. This decision reflects a strategic choice to maintain stability in Washington's governmental structure as Ferguson prepares to take office.
