Man arrested after smashing foot, making threats from balcony | The Olympian

Olympia, WALocal News

A parking incident in west Olympia escalated dramatically late Friday night when a driver in a red sedan accidentally ran over a man's foot while trying to parallel park. The two men seated on the curb, both 32, were engaged in conversation when the accident occurred, prompting heated exchanges that escalated to threats of gun violence. In a concerning turn of events, the 35-year-old driver entered an apartment building, re-emerged with what appeared to be a firearm, and made threats from a balcony. However, police later discovered that the weapon was a pellet gun designed to resemble a Beretta-style handgun. The driver was arrested and charged with vehicular assault and felony harassment.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of how minor disputes can escalate dangerously in public settings and highlights the need for conflict resolution measures in urban environments.
