Olympia, WA** Local News

South Sound Running, a well-regarded retailer for runners, is transitioning ownership of its Olympia and Puyallup stores to Fleet Feet Puget Sound as the current owners retire. Founded in Olympia in 1998, the brand has cultivated a loyal customer base through its marathon training programs and active community events. The Puyallup store, which opened in 2013, is part of this sale, while a previously opened Point Ruston location was closed in 2022. Wade Pannell, the owner of Fleet Feet Puget Sound, announced plans to take over the stores in January 2025, promising to uphold the community-oriented service that South Sound Running has provided. Greg Klein, the co-owner, highlighted the importance of their loyal customers and the dedication of the staff in the transition announcement.

This move is poised to enhance the local running community's resources and support systems, reflecting a broader trend in local businesses adapting to changing ownership while ensuring service continuity. As the new ownership steps in, they aim to build upon the legacy of South Sound Running while expanding their regional presence.
