This initiative aims to educate the public on maintaining clean waterways and promote community involvement through volunteer opportunities. Ali Brown, Water Resources Specialist for Lacey, highlights the collaboration among the city’s stormwater team, which consists of 15 diverse professionals. Weekdays will feature in-house training, while weekends will invite public participation in various activities. Local partnerships, including those with Olympia, Tumwater, and Thurston County, support the Stream Team, which provides hands-on science and volunteer events.

One ongoing project at Sapp Road Park includes community restoration efforts focused on removing invasive species and planting native plants.
