Stuck on Southbound I-5? Community Transit offers alternatives to driving

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Community Transit urges southbound I-5 commuters to explore transit options during the Revive I-5 construction. The agency operates 19 bus routes linking to light rail stations, complemented by four Sound Transit routes in Snohomish County. ST Routes 510 and 515 provide direct bus service to downtown Seattle, while the Swift Blue Line connects with King County Metro’s RapidRide E Line. Commuters can also take the Sounder train from Everett, Mukilteo, and Edmonds, which offers four daily roundtrips. Parking at Lynnwood City Center Station fills quickly, making nearby park and ride lots like Ash Way and Edmonds more viable options.

The on-demand Zip Shuttle service is available for Alderwood residents to reach light rail. Community Transit recommends using the ORCA card for seamless fare payments across all transportation modes. This initiative reflects a broader effort to alleviate traffic and promote public transit during construction disruptions.
