The Second Creek fire near Plain, WA, has expanded to 80 acres and is now 38% contained, according to Incident Commander Christopher Hutsell. Crews have made significant progress by constructing and improving containment lines on the southern flank. Currently, 150 personnel are engaged in firefighting efforts, with no structural damage reported and evacuation orders lifted as of Friday afternoon. The blaze has exhibited minimal growth since late Wednesday and is believed to have been sparked by human activity, with the precise cause still under investigation. A Level 1 Fire Advisory remains in effect for local residents.

Fire managers express optimism that if conditions remain favorable, they may transition to patrol status as soon as Sunday. The fire is burning on both private and federal lands close to the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Officials are actively monitoring the situation to ensure public safety and prevent further spread.
