Delays Expected Between Leavenworth and Peshastin

Single-lane closures on US 2 will start Monday as contractors work on traffic signal cameras and pedestrian push-buttons at the Main Street intersection in Peshastin. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) aims to enhance pedestrian safety while crossing the highway. Flaggers will manage traffic at two intersections between Leavenworth and Peshastin, which may lead to delays. The work will occur from 7 a. m.

to 6 p. m. Monday through Thursday, and from 6:30 p. m. Thursday to 7 a.

m. Friday, with a total of up to 10 working weekdays planned. This initiative marks a significant step toward improving pedestrian access in the area. The installation of compression seals at the bridge over the Wenatchee River will also take place. WSDOT encourages drivers to consult the real-time travel map for the latest traffic control updates.

The project is expected to make highway crossings safer for pedestrians.
