WVC announces groundbreaking for new Center for Technical Education and Innovation

Wenatchee Valley College will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Center for Technical Education and Innovation (CTEI) on June 12 at 3 p. m. This $50 million facility will cover 70,000 square feet and is designed to enhance hands-on learning for skilled trades programs such as agriculture, automotive technology, and aerospace electronics. WVC President Dr. Faimous Harrison expressed excitement about the center's potential to prepare students for essential careers in skilled labor.

The CTEI is scheduled for completion by Fall 2027, furthering the college’s mission to foster educational opportunities that support community growth. Funding for the project comes from the State of Washington's 2023-25 capital budget allocation. The groundbreaking ceremony will feature presentations from local representatives and refreshments for attendees. Free parking will be provided in the nearby Smith Gym and Student Recreation Center lots. This initiative underscores WVC's commitment to contributing to the economic vibrancy of North Central Washington.
