The Second Creek Fire, which ignited on Memorial Day, has achieved 76 percent containment and has not expanded beyond its initial size of 80 acres. Firefighters from the Chelan County Fire District and U. S. Forest Service are actively working to secure containment lines and eliminate residual hotspots. The fire, which has been confirmed as human-caused, began on private property before spreading to U.

S. Forest Service land. Chelan County Emergency Management lifted the Level 1 Fire Advisory for the area on May 30, indicating improved conditions. A burn ban is currently imposed in Chelan County, typically lasting until October 1, with further restrictions detailed on the county's website. Investigators from the WA DNR continue to look into the fire's cause.
