Chelan County is seeking candidates for a two-year volunteer position on its Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC), which advises the Board of County Commissioners on lodging tax revenue allocation. The current opening is for a representative from a lodging business in Commissioner District 3, covering northeast Wenatchee to areas like Chelan and Manson. Commissioner Brad Hawkins notes the importance of the role, requiring candidates to be lodging tax contributors. Interested applicants must submit their materials by June 30, with interviews scheduled for mid-July. The LTAC typically meets monthly, with the primary task of recommending grant allocations to the Board of County Commissioners.

Chelan County generates approximately $2 million annually from lodging taxes, underlining the committee's impact on the local tourism economy. Hawkins expressed hope that applicants will focus on enhancing visitor opportunities to boost lodging tax revenues. This position is vital for sustaining tourism development in the region.
