The Leavenworth Planning Commission is responsible for long-range urban planning and legislative policy recommendations to the City Council. Appointed by the Mayor, the volunteer commissioners either reside within the city limits or own property in the Urban Growth Area. Each year, the commission tackles a Docket of amendments based on feedback from citizens and officials. Meetings are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month at 7 PM in the City Hall Council Chambers or via Zoom. On August 8, 2023, the City Council adopted a Code of Ethics applicable to all elected and appointed officials, reinforcing accountability.

The commission's work aligns with the community’s vision as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan.
