Leavenworth Farmers Market returns for 17th season

Leavenworth, WALocal News

The Leavenworth Community Farmers Market opens for its 17th season on May 31, operating every Saturday until October 11 at Lions Club Park. This year, the market will feature local produce, artisan goods, and a Kids Market section, along with live music. Farmers from Watkins Farm Foods will provide eggs, which were unavailable in previous years due to licensing issues with the Washington State Department of Revenue. The market enhances community accessibility by accepting various payment methods, including SNAP EBT, which it doubles up to $25 per day. Executive Director Cali Osborne highlighted the market's commitment to educating customers on food benefits at the Market Info Booth.

Additionally, the market has improved parking and is conveniently located at a Link Transit bus stop. To fund operations, Cascade Community Markets is launching a t-shirt fundraiser and hosting the Farm to Table Dinner Fundraiser on August 22. Proceeds from the dinner will support local farms, with the first $5,000 directed to grants for market farmers.
