Leavenworth to host International Alphorn Festival and Workshop

The Leavenworth International Alphorn Festival will celebrate the unique alphorn instrument from May 22 to May 25, 2025, attracting musicians and visitors alike. Participants can join the Northwest Alphorn Workshop, which offers expert instruction and instrument rentals, welcoming players of all levels. The festival will kick off with a meet and greet on May 22, followed by a downtown procession and a concert at the Front Street Gazebo. On May 25, an "Alpine Showcase" will feature performances in a natural amphitheater setting at Leavenworth Ski Hill. The festival highlights the cultural significance of the alphorn, a traditional Swiss instrument, and aims to foster community connections.

Additionally, the event will introduce free summer performances at the gazebo every Saturday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Since its inception in 2015, the Leavenworth Alphorn Association has engaged performers aged 12 to 75, promoting the instrument's heritage. More information is available at leavenworthalphorns. org.
