Senator Keith Goehner presented a Senate resolution to Arlene Wagner on May 9, recognizing her contributions to the arts and celebrating her 100th birthday. Wagner co-founded the Nutcracker Museum in 1995, which now boasts over 9,000 nutcrackers from around the world, making it one of the largest collections. The resolution highlighted her dedication to collecting, sharing knowledge, and her teaching efforts. Goehner emphasized the importance of honoring Wagner in her community, where she has impacted many through her expertise. While the resolution was read on the Senate floor, Goehner felt it was vital to honor her at the museum itself.

Wagner was in Germany, visiting nutcracker workshops and training her successor, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to the craft. Her influence is recognized internationally, as evidenced by her media appearances in Germany. In honor of her milestone, three custom nutcrackers were crafted specifically for her 100th birthday.
