A juvenile suspect was arrested early Monday after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Snohomish County and driving it to Chelan County. The Chelan County Sheriff's Office received reports of the stolen car spotted near Leavenworth around 5:15 a. m. Deputies located the vehicle and attempted a stop, but the driver fled westbound on U. S.

Highway 2. Authorities established a containment perimeter and deployed a drone, which led to the discovery of the suspects who had abandoned the vehicle. The driver was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and attempting to elude law enforcement, while the passenger was unaware of the theft and was taken to a crisis center. The incident highlights ongoing issues with juvenile crime in the region. Law enforcement is evaluating their response strategies to prevent such thefts in the future.
