Filing Week for local offices in Chelan County is scheduled from May 5 to May 9, allowing residents to declare their candidacy for the upcoming election cycle. The Aug. 5 Primary Election and Nov. 4 General Election will feature a variety of positions across multiple jurisdictions. County Auditor Skip Moore emphasized the importance of local engagement, stating that many positions—including port, city, school, and fire commissioners—are available.

Most roles have no filing fee and require only that candidates are registered voters within the respective districts. Detailed eligibility criteria and filing instructions can be accessed through the Chelan County Elections Department, either by phone or online. This filing process aims to increase participation in local governance and ensure a diverse slate of candidates. By serving in these positions, residents can directly influence local policies and community development. This year's election cycle highlights the significance of grassroots involvement in shaping local government.
