The feature-length film “Evergreens” will be screened at the Seattle International Film Festival on May 19 and 20, with an option for at-home streaming from May 26 to June 1. The narrative follows characters Eve and James on a road trip across Washington, beginning in Spokane and encompassing locations such as Cashmere and Leavenworth. Director Jared Briley, inspired by his childhood, emphasizes the state's beauty as a vital element of the story. Filming took place in July 2024, with key scenes shot at the Outpost Saloon and along Front Street in Leavenworth. Approximately 35 percent of the film's budget was supported by Washington Filmworks, highlighting the organization's role in fostering local economic development.

This funding initiative included a 10 percent rebate for spending in rural filming locations. Tickets for the screenings are available for $20 at siff. net/festival/evergreens. The film's showcasing underscores the growing recognition of Washington's film industry and its picturesque landscapes.
