During the April 22 meeting, the Leavenworth City Council adopted Proclamation 02-2025, declaring May as Arts Education Month, which Mayor Carl Florea stated is vital for all students. The proclamation highlights the benefits of arts education, including academic achievement and cultural understanding. In a parallel effort, the council passed Resolution 09-2025, affirming its commitment to welcoming immigrants, acknowledging their role in enriching the community. RH2 Engineering's presentation on water source feasibility marked a critical step in planning for the city's long-term water supply amid growth and ongoing drought conditions. The council expressed its support for the Salmon Lifecycle Learning Landscape Project at the Leavenworth Fish Hatchery, aiming to enhance local environmental initiatives.

The meeting not only focused on community development but also celebrated the arts as an essential component of education. Monica Miller, Executive Director of Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, voiced her hopes for increased arts engagement in the Upper Valley. Tracey Edou, Superintendent of Cascade School District, emphasized the importance of arts in education, highlighting community support.
