Sustainable NCW Earth Day Fair set for April 19 at Wenatchee Valley College

Wenatchee Valley College is set to host the Sustainable NCW Earth Day Fair on April 19, from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. , a gathering aimed at promoting environmental education and community engagement.

The event will feature over 50 vendors, including local organizations such as the Cascadia Conservation District and Chelan Douglas Land Trust. Kicking off with a 5K or 1K Fun Run at 9:30 a. m. , the fair will offer a diverse range of activities, including Eco-Talks covering cutting-edge sustainability topics. Musical acts from the Wenatchee Valley Youth Symphony and local high school groups will provide entertainment throughout the day.

Children will have access to interactive activities, including chalk art and wildlife experiences, while food trucks will serve sustainable meals using compostable serving ware. A silent auction will feature sustainable items to support Sustainable NCW, and various electric vehicles will be on display. WVC President Faimous Harrison emphasized the fair's role in fostering community stewardship of the environment, making it a significant event for the region. Additional Earth Day celebrations will continue on April 22 and 23 with poetry readings and nature hikes, further enriching the community's commitment to sustainability.
