Beaver Valley Elementary hit with vandalism

Leavenworth, WALocal News

Cascade School District is currently investigating a vandalism incident that took place at Beaver Valley Elementary on the evening of March 20. Vandals caused damage to the school’s double-paned windows, but thankfully did not manage to break through the safety glass or enter the building. Principal Kenny Renner-Singer, along with School Board Chair Trey Ising and a maintenance worker, promptly assessed the damage and notified the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office. Despite the incident, classes remained in session, utilizing alternate entrances while temporary repairs were implemented. The district has not yet determined the cost of repairs, but aims to complete permanent fixes by the end of Spring Break.

Superintendent Tracey Edou condemned the act, emphasizing its potential to create fear among children and calling it a despicable action. In response to this incident, the district is also planning to enhance security features at the school. Community members are encouraged to provide any information that could assist in the investigation.
