City of Leavenworth's Annual Spring Clean-up Announcement

Leavenworth, WALocal News

The City of Leavenworth is preparing for its Annual Spring Clean-up, which will run from April 7th through April 30th, exclusively for single-family residential households. During this time, city crews will collect yard debris on the same day as regular garbage pickup, free of charge. To ensure compliance, residents are required to use recyclable paper bags for yard waste, as plastic bags will not be picked up. These recyclable bags can be found at Home Depot and Lowes Hardware, with plans to expand availability in local stores. Limbs must be cut into lengths of four feet or shorter and tied with biodegradable twine to facilitate collection.

Residents are encouraged to consider donating larger limbs for firewood rather than disposing of them. Importantly, items like furniture, appliances, dirt, rocks, sod, or building debris will not be collected during this clean-up. This initiative not only promotes environmental sustainability by minimizing plastic waste but also fosters community engagement in maintaining a clean and green environment.
