The City of Leavenworth has officially announced Matthew “Selby” as its new City Administrator, starting July 2022. Selby has a robust background in community development, having previously served as Director of Community Development and Health in Ashland, Massachusetts, where he led initiatives that earned the town a state-designated Green Community status. His tenure in Acton, Massachusetts, as Land Use and Economic Development Director was marked by significant redevelopment projects that brought in $200 million in investments and fostered affordable housing partnerships. Most recently, he served as Interim Assistant City Manager in Yakima, WA, where he proposed mixed-use developments to address workforce housing needs. Selby's passion for outdoor activities, such as kayaking and skiing, aligns well with the recreational culture of Leavenworth.
