The City of Leavenworth has officially announced Matthew “Selby” as its new City Administrator, starting July 2022. Selby has a robust background in community development, having previously served as Director of Community Development and Health in Ashland, Massachusetts, where he led initiatives that earned the town a state-designated Green Community status. His tenure in Acton, Massachusetts, as Land Use and Economic Development Director was marked by significant redevelopment projects that brought in $200 million in investments and fostered affordable housing partnerships. Most recently, he served as Interim Assistant City Manager in Yakima, WA, where he proposed mixed-use developments to address workforce housing needs. Selby's passion for outdoor activities, such as kayaking and skiing, aligns well with the recreational culture of Leavenworth.

Mayor Carl Florea highlighted Selby’s expertise as vital for the city's future growth and community initiatives. With his extensive experience, Selby is poised to make a meaningful impact on the local community and its development.
