The City of Leavenworth has announced the opening of brush drop-off sites at the Dryden and Chelan transfer stations, effective March 29, 2019, with the Leavenworth site opening on April 12 due to wet soil conditions. Residents can dispose of organic waste such as trees, limbs, and untreated wood, adhering to guidelines that forbid the disposal of plastic bags, grass clippings, and treated lumber. The Chelan transfer station will operate from 10 a. m. to 4 p.

m. Tuesday through Saturday, while the Dryden station will accept waste from 9:30 a. m. to 5 p. m.

on weekdays and 8:30 a. m. to 4 p. m. on Saturdays.

Notably, the Leavenworth site caters to residents in the Apple Maggot Quarantine Zone, with operational hours set for Fridays from 8 a. m. to 3 p. m. The article underscores the significance of responsible waste disposal and offers insights into the costs associated with each drop-off site.
