Notice Commercial Garbage Changes Effective 1212019 City of Leavenworth

Leavenworth, WALocal News

Effective December 1, 2019, the City of Leavenworth will no longer provide solid waste pick-up services on Thursdays, a change prompted by necessary vehicle maintenance and staffing adjustments. The decision is part of the City's efforts to optimize service delivery while still offering collection six days a week. Businesses that currently have Thursday as their regular collection day should contact the City promptly to arrange for a new pick-up schedule. If a change in days is not feasible, the City suggests that these businesses consider adding an additional waste container to accommodate their needs. This change aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure that residents and businesses continue to receive reliable waste management services.

The announcement was made by Herb Amick, the Public Works Director, who can be contacted for further inquiries. Overall, the City remains dedicated to adapting its services to best meet the community's needs while ensuring the continuity of essential services. This initiative underscores the importance of effective communication between the City and its constituents regarding local services.
