Chelan County Notice RE Leavenworth Brush Site City of Leavenworth

Leavenworth, WALocal News

Chelan County has officially reverted the fees for the Leavenworth brush drop-off site to the standard rate of $15 per cubic yard. This change comes after a temporary flat fee system was introduced in March as a precautionary measure during the COVID-19 pandemic. The brush drop-off site, located at the intersection of Icicle and East Leavenworth roads, serves residents living within the Apple Maggot Quarantine Area of Chelan County. Operating hours are set for Fridays from 8 a. m.

to 3 p. m. , and it is crucial for visitors to remember that only cash or checks will be accepted. For those unsure if they reside within the quarantine area, a searchable map is available through the Washington State Department of Agriculture. The return to regular fees is significant for local residents who rely on this facility for environmentally responsible yard waste disposal.

This notice, shared by Jill FitzSimmons, the Public Information Officer for Chelan County Public Works, emphasizes the importance of maintaining community health and safety. Residents are encouraged to follow Chelan County Public Works on Facebook for further updates and information.
