Update Icicle Creek Advisory City of Leavenworth

Leavenworth, WALocal News

The City of Leavenworth has launched several projects aimed at improving water supply and supporting fish recovery in the Icicle Watershed, as detailed in a recent advisory. Partnering with Trout Unlimited and the Icicle Peshastin Irrigation District, the city is working on installing a new water mainline and making necessary fish passage improvements. Construction commenced in early May 2020 and is expected to conclude by October 31, 2020, ensuring that domestic water service for residents remains unaffected. During this period, Icicle Road will experience one-lane traffic limitations from August 5 to September 9, 2020, affecting a section of the road near the Snow Lakes Trailhead. A flagger will be present to guide vehicles through the construction zone, and drivers are urged to remain vigilant and follow all traffic signage.

This project is part of a broader Icicle Strategy aimed at enhancing water resources and ecological recovery efforts. For those interested in outdoor activities, additional information can be found through the US Forest Service and Washington Trails Association websites. Updates regarding the projects will be shared on the Trout Unlimited Washington Water Project Facebook page.
