Chelan Douglas Health District Live Townhall Style Event

Leavenworth, WALocal News

On November 19, 2020, the Chelan-Douglas Health District will host a live townhall-style event to address the significant rise in COVID-19 cases in the region. Local elected leaders will join health experts, including Dr. Peter Rutherford from Confluence Health and Dr. Malcolm Butler, to provide insights and answer community questions. Although the event is not open to in-person attendance due to safety restrictions, it will be broadcast live on Charter’s channel 19 and LocalTel channel 12, as well as streamed on various local media social media platforms.

This initiative aims to keep the community informed and engaged amidst the ongoing health crisis. Media outlets will be invited to participate and pose questions, enhancing the dialogue around public health issues. For accessibility, a recorded version of the event will feature Spanish subtitles and be uploaded to the CDHD YouTube channel. COVID-19 safety measures, including masking and social distancing, will be strictly adhered to during the event to ensure the safety of all involved. This proactive approach highlights the importance of community engagement in addressing public health challenges.
