Notice of Determination of Nonsignificance 2021 Comp Plan Update City of Leavenworth

Leavenworth, WALocal News

The City of Leavenworth has published a Notice of Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) concerning updates to its Comprehensive Plan, compliant with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) regulations. The proposed changes aim to incorporate recommendations from the Housing Action Plan and streamline the existing plan's functionality. Notable amendments include alterations to land use designations intended to enhance options for residential density, along with changing the Osborn site to a recreational designation. After reviewing the environmental checklist and other relevant information, the lead agency determined that the updates would not lead to significant adverse environmental impacts, thus negating the need for an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The public is invited to comment on these changes, with the feedback period commencing on October 15 and concluding on November 3, 2021.

Written comments can be submitted to Leavenworth City Hall or through email at the designated address. This initiative reflects the city's commitment to improving its planning processes and addressing community needs effectively. Residents and interested parties are encouraged to participate in this important planning dialogue.
