Leavenworth, WALocal News

The Upper Valley Park & Recreation Service Area (PRSA) has announced the results of its recreational needs assessment, conducted in partnership with the City of Leavenworth, which highlights key priorities for community recreational investments. The assessment process, which spanned from June to September, included outreach at local events and a statistically valid survey that gathered insights from randomly selected households. Among the top recommendations are the expansion of shared-use paths to enhance connectivity between neighborhoods and increased access to the community pool for year-round use. Survey respondents demonstrated a strong willingness to fund these improvements, alongside the creation of a new recreation/community center. Community members also expressed enthusiasm for additional programming such as outdoor concerts, fitness classes, and arts programs.

The assessment was carried out by AHBL, Inc. , a reputable civil engineering firm known for its expertise in community planning. These findings are expected to guide future investments in recreational infrastructure, ultimately enriching the quality of life in the Upper Valley. The results signify a collective vision for more inclusive and accessible recreational opportunities in the region.
