The City of Leavenworth has announced the 2023 Leavenworth Fund grant recipients, awarding $133,980 to 14 local non-profit organizations to support community initiatives. This grant program is crucial for local organizations seeking funding from the city’s general and lodging tax funds, with applications due by October 31. The City Council unanimously approved the Economic Development Committee's recommendations during their meeting on December 13, 2022. The grants are designed to enhance tourism and local engagement, with applicants evaluated on criteria such as tourism benefits and sustainable funding. In total, $175,000 was allocated for 2023, showcasing the city's dedication to fostering community development.

Not all funds were distributed, and remaining amounts will carry over to next year. The awarded organizations include the Leavenworth Alphorn Association and the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, among others. This initiative reflects the city's commitment to supporting local non-profits and enhancing the community's cultural landscape.
